Lake Humantay (2 days)

Hike to the famous Lake Humantay, one of the most exhilarating beauty spots in the Cusco area. Explore some fabulous Inca sites en route and enjoy extraordinary hospitality in a rural Lodge near Mollepata. A must-see for nature lovers and hikers alike. PRIVATE TOUR.

Day 1     We will meet you at the airport or your hotel in Cusco and drive by private transport to Limatambo. On the way, we will visit the mysterious Inka site of  Killarumiyoq, once an important ceremonial site with impressive terraces, shrines, and remnants of an authentic Inca road, and Tarawasi which boasts a ceremonial platform with trapezoidal-shaped niches and a splendid wall in the cellular style of building.  A delicious lunch will wait for you at the Hacienda Sondorf, a 19th-century estate nearby.  You will love finding out about the history of this magical place and interacting with the charming hosts and their children. In the afternoon we will drive the short distance to Andean Spirit Lodge where we will spend the night.  Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the garden trails or just relax. Overnight in bungalows with private attached facilities at the Andean Spirit Lodge. L & D

Day 2      Today we will get up early and after breakfast, we head towards the village of Mollepata where we will make a short stop to appreciate the beauty of the Plaza with its church. We will continue our trip to Soraypampa at the foot of the snow-capped Salkantay and Humantay which is also the starting point to make the trek to Machupicchu. We will have a coca tea to adapt to the altitude (3858 m) before starting our trek to the Humantay Lagoon. Horses can also be rented here for an additional cost. We will start the ascent that will last approximately two hours.

The landscapes are spectacular with the glaciers always in sight. Our efforts will be rewarded when we reach the beautiful lagoon with turquoise waters. Here we will rest, have our picnic lunch and enjoy the dramatic panoramas before descending and driving you back to Cusco. B, boxed Lunch
